Hi guys, this is Ashley here and I just have to ask…
What do you get when you combine a super happy couple with a bride who can’t stop smiling, an all children bridal party, beautiful mountain views, a quaint country chapel and a gun toting motorcyclist? (What?!)
You get Annie and Terry’s wedding day! And believe me, it was one of the most beautiful and emotional weddings by far… with a little excitement thrown in.
Annie and Terry were married in a sweet little chapel in Cashiers, NC called the Summer Chapel and it was perfect for their family oriented ceremony. They had only children in their wedding party and it was the cutest thing ever! The bridal party included Terry’s three daughters, his two nephews and Annie’s two nieces. And that included two sets of twins!
Annie couldn’t stop smiling and it almost made me start laughing so many times because it was so infectious. I love it when brides can’t stop smiling at their weddings, it’s so great to see their emotions like that. And speaking of emotions, I don’t think I’ve ever cried so hard during a dance at a wedding. They had a beautiful reception at High Hampton Inn and started it off with their first dances. Now, the couple was so fun to watch smiling and laughing while they danced and Annie and her father were so sweet with each other. But then Terry danced with each of his little girls in turn and Oh. My. Gosh. I was bawling. Maybe it had to do with the fact that everyone else was crying too, or the fact that each girl just ran up with a huge smile on her face when it was her turn… you could just see the love. And since I have a little girl myself, it made it hit home so much more for me. I see a lot of father/daughter dances, but this was the best yet.
And I can’t forget the “excitement” that happened while we were shooting their couple portraits. We took Annie and Terry out to the field next to where all the guests parked for the wedding (and it’s gorgeous views…see below) and just 2 minutes into our pictures a bright yellow Harley Davidson motorcycle comes out of nowhere with a man informing us we were on his property (oops!). The fact that he was carrying a firearm ensured he received an immediate apology and our offers to vamoose at once. Luckily the still smiling bride softened our new friend and he allowed us to finish up our photos, with our gratitude.
So that was the sweet and exciting wedding day of Annie and Terry! Leave them a comment below and help me wish them and their family all the best!
