It’s the kind of feeling we all hope for. You meet someone and you just know. You know that this is the person you are going to marry someday, and Brantley and Jake are one of the lucky ones that got it right.
After seeing Jake around the Clemson University campus many times and thinking he was just too cute, Brantley finally introduced herself to him one night after they both attended an FCA meeting. And there it was. That feeling. That connection that has stayed with them and grown until they made it official March 9th at a beautiful ceremony at the Daniel Chapel at Furman University. They followed their ceremony with a fabulous reception at the Poinsett Club to top off the traditional, elegant and relaxed wedding day they wanted to achieve.
And relaxed it was. Brantley was the most calm and relaxed bride we think we’ve ever been around. She was much calmer than we were when she realized she had stepped on her gown in mud. Mud, on her wedding dress, before the ceremony. We were internally freaking out but Brantley and Jake were not going to let anything ruin their day. After successfully cleaning her gown, the happy couple continued their good spirits and spoke their vows in front of family and friends in a lovely ceremony.
Brantley and Jake list their family, friends and Clemson University as their greatest loves in life and they showed their love with a few special touches on their wedding day. Brantley included a small pin on her bouquet that belonged to her late Grandmother, reminding everyone that she would be with them in spirit. The happy couple also gave sweet grass roses as favors for the guests because they symbolize everlasting love. And the roses have a special meaning personally to the couple since Jake bought one for Brantley in Charleston when they first started dating…she still has it today. And what would Clemson graduates, who fell in love at the university, do to celebrate at their wedding? Invite the Tiger of course! Yes, the Clemson Tiger himself made an appearance at the reception and danced the night away with the happy couple.
We expect nothing but the best for these two in their future together. We wish them all the love, joy and happiness they experienced this day, always.
