Occasionally we get a call from a couple having an intimate elopement style wedding.
I’m so glad these guys asked me to come shoot this one!
Amber and Aaron are two incredibly beautiful people with the kindest families. I arrived to Pretty Place chapel on top of the mountain on a Tuesday afternoon and met Amber’s father who was greeting a bus load of retired folks coming by to enjoy the view. As they arrived, they realized a wedding was happening very shortly but the family just invited them to enjoy the view telling them they had plenty of time.
The air was chilly and since it is early October, the trees and their slightly colored leaves were hinting that fall is just around the corner, and Amber arrived ready to get started! Aaron was just as excited waiting out of sight.
It was so simple. Amber got ready, Aaron was told it was time, one brother in law started the music and the other brother in law led the way to officiate. As Aaron came down the aisle, I could see the emotion building. This was it! Two adorable nieces as acting flower girls and the maid of honor, the couple’s daughter, soon followed him.
Their son, and Aaron’s best man, escorted Amber down the aisle and when asked, “Who gives this woman to be married”, he replied, “My sister and I do”. It was one of the sweetest things I’d ever heard! As Amber and Aaron said their vows, they not only exchanged rings with each other, but they also gave their daughter and son necklaces to commemorate two families becoming one.
There were certainly a few tears but also lots of smiles and hugs. Both families were so excited that this moment had finally arrived and it was such a pleasure for me to be a part of it. I was only with them for about two hours but in that time, I could see the closeness they all shared and the brightness of the future in front of this new family.
Amber and Aaron, I wish you all the love and joy your hearts can hold!

We can not say enough about how incredible Ashley was to work with. She captured the essence of what we envisioned for our special day. We could not feel more blessed. It just goes to show that it’s not always about the big extravagant wedding, it’s a about being surrounded by the people who love you unconditionally and saying “I Do” forever.
