High Hampton Inn is a beautiful setting for a couple that is so completely in love, their joy spills over in all they do.
Lucy and Pete are two amazing people and after working with them, we know they have something special together. The morning of the wedding Pete sent Lucy a gift that when she opened it, she immediately started crying. It was a picture of Pete on bended knee proposing to Lucy. What Lucy didn’t know until that second was that Pete had gotten a friend to capture that special moment between the two of them, and he kept it to himself during their entire engagement! He waited until their wedding day to surprise her with that special reminder of what they share. Just after his proposal, their first phone call to family to share the news of their engagement was to Pete’s nieces who were unquestionably thrilled that Uncle Pete was going to marry Lucy! And one of my favorite special touches of the wedding day, they had a photo album with a picture from everyday of their year long engagement. It was such a special way to share their love and happiness, and to remember that special year.
The day of their wedding was such a joyous one filled with love and tears. One of our many favorite moments was when we had to get Pete inside so he didn’t see Lucy having pictures made, and when he overheard his friends and family gasping and saying how gorgeous Lucy was, he broke down in tears. That just melted our hearts!
Lucy was no slacker either; she is just an amazing person. So incredibly kind and generous, she’s smart (earning her PhD) and absolutely beautiful on the inside and out. At the end of the night we talked with Pete to congratulated him, and his response was that he must have saved a Pope in a former life to deserve Lucy in this one.
This guy knows what to say and when to say it so we think he’s got this marriage thing locked down already!
The day started out with a round of golf for the guys complete with llama caddies. Yes that’s right, llamas. I’m not sure that they offered the best advice on which club to use but they sure lugged them around like a champ!
They truly enjoyed their day with friends and family and even their special furry friend, Pig. They had a few photos made with their adorable dog and the nieces were thrilled to be in charge of bringing Pig out for photos. Although the girls were a bit disappointed to find out they couldn’t go to the after party. They misunderstood “keg party” to be a “cake party”! It was an adorable mix up and we know they all got a good laugh and memory out of that one to share when the girls are older.
Lucy and Pete definitely danced the night away with their friends and had a blast! The people they love and those that know how special this couple truly is surrounded them and shared in their joy.
Lucy and Pete, we wish you all the best.
