I had the pleasure to get to know Jennifer a little better during her bridal session about a month before her wedding to Dikran, and I could see in her eyes that she was a woman in L.O.V.E.
It was even more apparent the day of the wedding when I had my first chance to see them together. She just gazed at him like he was a drink of water and she had just wondered out of the desert. Dikran is a quiet, gentle and loving man and who treats Jennifer as if he would do anything to make her smile.
Their entire day was full of joy and laughter and it all began for me the moment I walked into the house where Jennifer was getting ready. This woman was dancing around in her bathrobe with her sweet niece (who was not camera shy) while she was surrounded by family and her best friends. It was a hair and makeup extravaganza! Jennifer couldn’t sit still the entire morning and even offer a helping hand while I got to work. If she hadn’t been the bride she would have made a great assistant!
When she finally sat down to have her hair and makeup done, that’s when it all hit her. She was the bride. She would be married within a few hours. Her gown was downstairs waiting for her to step into it.
Deep breath in…. and out.
She was perfect! The gown looked as if it had been made just for her from the color to the design and she was stunning! And on top of that, the diamond necklace she had borrowed from her jeweler father in law was Dikran’s gift to her. The excitement that followed was exactly what you’d expect from any of us girls that love jewelry! It was so cute the way he gave it to her. He put a little sticky note on a hand mirror that said, “to see your gift, look in this while wearing the necklace”.
Their ceremony was held at the beautiful Cliffs Chapel. The ceremony was simple, heartfelt and had wonderful personal touches. Dikran’s father spoke to them and shared his hopes and his best advice with them before they exchanged vows in front of friends and family. After the ceremony we spent a little time capturing some great shots of just Jennifer and Dikran with the chapel’s amazing view.
Soon it was time to head to their beautiful reception at the Cliffs Country Club, which was immaculately decorated with breathtaking floral arrangements and a wedding cake that matched Jennifer’s belt of her gown perfectly. One of the most touching moments came during the couple’s first dance. Jennifer’s young cousin, Emmy, performed the song for their first dance and it wasn’t long before the bride and most of the room was in tears. Emmy did such a wonderful job and Jennifer and Dikran were incredibly proud!
The rest of the evening was full of mingling, dancing and hugs all around. But all too soon, the sparklers were lit as the bride and groom made their way out for their first evening as man and wife. It was such a pleasure to get to know these two fantastic people and I hope you will help me wish Jennifer and Dikran all the best in their future!
