Award winning wedding photographers Craig and Lindsey create romantic and timeless images that capture each special moment of your wedding day. The most important decision to make in wedding planning is selecting the person who will document this momentous time in your life. We strive to make each image portray the emotion of the day…the true feeling of love and excitement.
Craig and Lindsey have built Sposa Bella Photography around a steadfast commitment to their clients. Staying true to this mission, wedding commissions are limited, allowing them to focus fully on providing every client with superior customer service.
Recognized as one of the top photographer teams in the southeast, Craig Mahaffey was named SC Wedding Photographer of the Year in 2011, and Lindsey Mahaffey was named SC Wedding Photographer of the Year in 2013 by the South Carolina Association of Wedding Photographers. In addition, weddings are often published in regional and national magazines and blogs, including the Knot, Charleston Weddings, and Southern Weddings. They have also received top honors and awards in state, national, and international photography competitions. Sposa Bella Photography is based in Greenville, SC. However, Craig and Lindsey often travel the southeast photographing weddings, and are available nationally and internationally.
I am so inspired by Craig when he is shooting a wedding or couple. Craig is very much a “people-person.” When we are shooting together, he typically takes the lead with conversations with our clients and has a unique ability to direct and pose them, getting them to interact naturally with each other in front of the camera. People often comment about how natural our couples look in their photos, and it’s because he is able to relate to people quickly and put them at ease.
Craig is thoughtful about his actions and thinks everything through. He analyzes the scene, studies the light, and knows exactly what he is going for when he shoots an image. I think this allows him to create some amazing works of art that just blow me away. And his commitment to our clients is incredible. He puts 110% of himself into every wedding he photographs. He understands that their wedding will forever be one of the most important days in their lives, and goes above and beyond in capturing every moment in a stunning way.
Craig is very patient and thoughtful in his actions (traits that made me fall in love with him) and there is no one better equipped at handling the stress on a wedding day and adapting to it. I know I would not enjoy working so hard with anyone but him.

From the moment I first met Lindsey, I saw a beautiful person inside and out. Her passion, excitement, and love for others just exude out of her. These are the traits that I fell in love with and these are the traits that make her a breathtaking photographer.
Lindsey falls in love with our couples, and because of that she wants them to have the perfect wedding day. She makes sure their day is perfect by doing anything that is needed. It amazes me… I’ve seen her help arrange favors on a table, open a bottle of champagne for the bride, and capture a stunning shot of a priceless moment all in the same breath. She has a passion for photography and capturing precious moments like no other. She strives to get to know our couples so that she can be sure to know what’s important to them. Every bride and groom is different and every wedding day is different. It’s these differences that make our couples unique and wonderful, and help to tell their story.
And as Lindsey tells the story of each of our brides and grooms, you can see the sparkle in her eyes. My favorite thing about Lindsey is how excited she gets about things she loves. She’s like an innocent child seeing the good in everything. Her laugh and smile are enchanting. Every single day, Lindsey amazes me… with her spirit, her love of life, and her gorgeous photographs.

I was in the fourth grade when my mother stated, very matter-of-factly, that I was going to grow up to be a photographer. She wasn’t all seeing, as much as I thought she was when I was a child. But instead, it had to do with the fact that I always had the family camera in my hand. That was after I had worn out my very own Mickey Mouse camera I received when I was three years old. Or maybe it was because my teacher had to explain why I had been excused from class for the afternoon… you see, it had been picture day at school, and I was just fascinated by the photographer, his equipment, what he was doing, how he did it, etc. So much so that my teacher saw a spark in me and arranged for me to be his helper for the rest of the day.
That spark never left.
It just grew over the years as I became the “official” family photographer. Of course, my mother always made sure I was in just as many pictures as I took, but it was during this time that I had my first experiences creating images that made people happy. Images that evoked some sort of emotion that made them connect to that moment in time. My favorite subjects were almost always my baby sister and our family pets, but when we look back at those images today, we are able to remember so many details of those times through the images I created. There was a desire in me that I wanted to nurture and that my family encouraged me to pursue.
In college, I fell in love with the darkroom very quickly, and in 2005, after 4 years, I finished my Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts Studies with an emphasis in photography. And after graduation I stumbled across Sposa Bella Photography. Craig and Lindsey needed someone to help grow their business, and I began the career of my dreams.
After a number of years learning and growing as a photographer, I truly fell in love with shooting weddings. I’m such a people person and I love being able to meet new faces and learn about two people beginning a new life together. I get to be there when it starts. It doesn’t get much bigger than that, and it’s a day I don’t take lightly. With so many special moments developing around me, it’s sensory overload in the best way you can imagine.
Capturing the love and excitement is what I love to do.
